Oom Koos is a well known Marathon runner and have 30 years of coaching runners like Francis van Blerk who won the Comrades marathon. He completed the Comrades marathon 23 times and holds  5 gold 15 silver 3 bronze comrades medals. Oom Koos also completed the London - to - Brighton (UK) and various other marathons in his running career.
